Police SSP met with the residents of various townships on Sohna Road and discussed security concerns. He promised immediate action and a review of developments after a month
The senior superintendent of police (SSP) Hanif Qureshi had his basics very clear when he gave the message to the residents that the police will try to make all possible efforts to improve the safety and security of their area and the residents themselves at a recent meeting. While interacting with the representatives and residents of different townships on Sohna Road, the SSP instructed DSP Ram Chander Rathee and SHO Sadar Thana to look into the complaints and suggestions of the residents and also to find solutions.
The meeting was chaired by V.K. Srivastava, president of Federation of Sohna Road Associations. Wg. Cdr. S. Prakash as safety and security chairman for South City II along with other association members of South City II, Malibu Towne, Uppals South End, South End Floors, Rose Wood City and Mayfield Garden also attended the meeting. Present in the meeting were security in-charge from South City II and caretaker for maintenance of South City II representing Unitech.
Col. Mahender Singh of Malibu Towne raised his concern over the movement of heavy vehicles at Panchayati Road. The issue was also raised by residents of other townships. Responding to the complains, Hanif Qureshi advised the SHO to deploy local cops along with guards at Panchayati Road for a few days. He asked the builders to barricade this road and deploy guards along with speed breakers.
Another resident Gauri highlighted the issue of growing hooliganism and eve teasing. Vatsela of G Block, Mukesh Khanna of A Block, Dr. Rajdev Patro of Rose Wood City and Deepak Arora of Ravi Security narrated such incidents, which happened to them. Qureshi asked the SHO to increase patrolling and keep a check on the vehicles against which complaints have been lodged. He also informed residents about important telephone numbers like that of the Control Room 2320100, Women Helpline 2300100, and SMS to log a complaint with the police at 9871333100 and email at spggn@dataone.in. He also assured that the complainant would get a response within 10 minutes.
He also assured that he would look into the demand of a police beat box at Mayfield Garden. Mukesh Khanna, Srivastava, Major S.K. Puri and others demanded the barricading of township and fencing of blocks. Maj. Puri quoted the incident of a single point entry in A Block wherein the SSP office had sent a letter in the past for which a action plan was drawn and was reported to his office. Hanif Qureshi demanded the fencing of townships by the builders and assured that if a letter is sent to his office he would personally take it up with the builders as security is at threat.
