News: Councillor held for gangster's murder in court |
|
The
Gurgaon police have arrested two people, including a municipal
councilor, for their involvement in the February 15 court complex
shootout. Three unidentified assailants killed gangster Dharambir
Ullavasia when the police was taking him to a courtroom lockup. The
killing, police said, was ordered by another gangster who is serving
trial in Gurgaon jail in a murder case.
According to Gurgaon SSP Hanif
Quereshi, Binder Gujjar along with one Sanjay Yadav had arranged rooms
for the three gunmen in a hotel on NH-8. Gujjar is a municipal
councilor.
“The trio killed Dharambir on
February 15 in the court complex and then fled in a Maruti car that was
found abandoned on NH-8. It’s a case of gangwar. Bindar and Sanjay
Yadav revealed during their interrogation that Dharambir’s murder was
financed by Parvesh who is in Gurgaon jail serving trial in
a double murder case,” said Quereshi. Parvesh is facing trial
for the murder of Kataria brothers.
According to police,
a man called Vijay contacted Parvesh for eliminating Dharambir. Parvesh
then hired three contract killers. He called up Gujjar and Yadav and
told them to arrange accommodation for the three killers in 32nd
Milestone Hotel on NH-8.
The three men stayed
there for two days before the murder. The councilor and his associate
Yadav booked the rooms, the police said.
A local court has
remanded Gujjar and his Yadav to a day’s police custody. The police
will question them about their role and the three killers.
