Paint to set up units in Chennai, Gurgaon |

Gurgaon News: Paint major
Nippon Paint today said it would be setting up two
manufacturing facilities in India - at Chennai and
Gurgaon.
These plants are expected to be commissioned in the
first quarter of 2008, Ramakanth Akula, VP, Nippon Paint
India, said.
India would be the 16th country having Nippon
manufacturing units, Satoshi Yamamoto, General Manager,
International Nippon Paint, Japan, said. |

The
company, with a $ 3 billion annual turnover, had set its
eyes on capturing the Indian market, which, he said, was
one of the fastest growing ones.
The company would be investing Rs 80 crore in the next
two years, W M Yip, MD of Nippon Paint (India), said
announcing the launch of Nippon's products in the
country.
The company would initially be selling only a few
products, imported from manufacturing plants all over
the world and would introduce its products in India in a
phased manner, Yip said.
The company would appoint 50 exclusive dealers in South
India and ten of them would be in Chennai. These dealers
would not only sell products but also give advice to
consumers as to the approprriate choice of paints for
their houses and offices, Akula said. |
